Laura Spini

Laura Spini

Laura is a native Italian with a 10-year career background in journalism (VICE, Rolling Stone, Esquire), during which she started editing video. She now freelances for UK and London-based outlets. She was an Editing Teaching Assistant for the London Film School, and she freelances for Pulse Films and MediaPro, cutting football promos for BeIN Sports.

She is an Avid devotee and Premiere warm enthusiast. She has edited on DaVinci Resolve, sound edited on ProTools, done some motion graphics on After Effects, and is beginning to learn how Lightworks works.

A comedy appreciator, Laura has a soft spot for sharply cut humorous narrative, and documentaries with a touch of weirdness to them. She has a deep, often unappreciated love for folder structure and structure itself, as well as an obsession for eye movements in close ups.

You could say her interest and focus on narrative during editing is informed primarily by her interest in narrative videogames, but here's guessing her work as a writer and director also kind of helped. She directed Fred Melamed (Sy Ableman from A Serious Man, the best villain of all time) in Vimeo-picked You Are Whole.
