Rachel is a freelance film and TV Editor working in both Avid and Premiere. She grew up in a remote part of Scotland with miles of wilderness, three TV channels and a lot of books.
Starting out as a Producer/Editor in community media she collaborated with a wide range of charities and community groups. This was an eye-opening and inspiring experience that cemented her belief in the importance of diverse and under-represented stories.
In 2017 she completed a Masters in Editing at the National Film and Television School, where her graduation documentary Pride In Rags was nominated for a Grierson Award and romantic comedy The Proposal made Vimeo Short of the Week. Festival screenings include Sheffield Doc/Fest and Encounters Short Film Festival.
Rachel continues to work across fiction, documentary, animation and commercials. Recently she has cut two episodes of the documentary series Found (BSLBT) as well as assisting on several award-winning broadcast series, including Ambulance (BBC 1), Surgeons: At the Edge of Life (BBC 2) and Exodus: Our Journey Continues (BBC 2).
Outside of the cutting room she likes to hike, kayak, take the odd picture and read short stories.
